23 aug mariam k’s custom wedding dress
Hi everyone, and welcome back to the JoSaBi blog! Super happy to have you back. Today, we will chat about Mariam K. and the gorgeous custom wedding dress she created with the help of JoSaBi Mariées. This lovely lady (originally from Mali) got married in Burkina Faso at the end of 2018. She was a super laid back bride who knew exactly what she wanted and trusted us to deliver her vision. Working on her wedding dress was super fun.
Design
Mariam first came to JoSaBi through our Facebook page in mid-September 2o18. She was planning her nuptials and was looking for a simple but beautiful ball gown. After a few days of chatting about her ideal style, we ended up sending over photos for inspiration. A few days later as promised, she therefore got back to me with a final pick. She opted for a delicate sleeveless empire waist ball gown with a corset back. Her choice for her custom wedding dress featured a gorgeous beaded lace bodice and a full tulle skirt with a lace edge. For her accessories, she picked a waist-length veil with a beautiful beaded edge, as well as little beaded glovelets. She went with pure white as a color choice (see our color guide here).
Mariam K’s Custom Wedding Dress
Creation
We kicked off the creation of her dress in late September, after receiving her measurements (she made a huge effort and made sure to send them in, in spite of being in the middle of a move). We finished Mariam’s custom wedding dress in mid-November and sent over final photos and videos.
Her fitting was one of the easiest ones ever because she needed zero alterations! She took her dress home immediately and was ready for her big day.
Wedding
Her wedding took place around Christmas, and she looked absolutely divine. The dress fit her style and accessories, and she just looked lovely
