JoSaBi Ginette opted for a lush, maximist and glamorous ballgown wedding dress with a detachable train. She rocked it for her December 2021 wedding, and looked breathtaking.
Ginette’s ballgown wedding dress with a detachable train: a quick story
Ginette contacted us from Canada. She was referred to JoSaBi Mariées by her sister in law, JoSaBi Mina! She immediately knew she wanted something grand and stunning, BUT with some practicality. Our bride wanted to have fun on the dance floor in her dress, so we had to design her gown with that duality in mind. Hence, a detachable train made sense, based on our conversation.
Designing Ginette’ wedding dress
The Brief
Ginette wanted glamour and romance. Her dress was to make her feel like a literal princess, and she wanted to turn heads on her big day.
The Design Process
We based ourselves on these ideas and worked with her to source an off-white, floral romantic lace, which we trimmed for several weeks to yield high-quality appliqués. The sparkle was multi-dimensional, with beaded sleeves, a very beaded bodice, and sparkly airy tulle on the skirt. Indeed, an incredible amount of detail went into the sleeves, on which each flower was a work of art. Moreover, Ginette’s veil was also an amazing creation, with a simple raw edge but boasting a cascade of pearls around her face.
The final touch was, of course, the double train. The bottom one had a modern raw tulle edge, but the longer one was more romantic, edged with lace and way longer, for a dramatic entry into the church.

Ginette’s wedding day was a pale pink and gold explosion, with neutral hues perfectly paired with gold tones. She looked regal, and we were so happy to bring her ballgown wedding dress with a detachable train dress to life!
