Hello everybody! It’s been a while- we’ve been busy assisting our lovely brides through wedding season! Today, we are very excited to introduce a gorgeous soul: JoSaBi Genae. Can you picture a golden princess? Well, that is exactly what she was! We can’t wait to spill the beans on her unique, detailed, and overall royal gold wedding dress. Let’s begin.
Genae’s golden wedding dress with a detachable skirt: a story
JoSaBi Genae was set on a very unique dress. Her vision was to look and feel like an African princess, all clad in gold lace and rich fabrics. She wanted a grand dress that would match her vision and would make her feel like a million bucks while remaining herself.
Our brideGenae already had a few ideas and details she loved: gold lace, mermaid shape, detachable skirt, and awesome bell sleeves. It was an absolute delight to help put these elements together to create the perfect dress and bring her vision to life.

Designing Genae‘s unique and opulent gold wedding dress
The Brief
Our JoSaBi Genae came to us with a plan: looking like a gorgeous, expensive, and luxe princess, with hints of gold all over her dress. Indeed, she wanted a 2-in-1 wedding dress including a flared mermaid with a sweetheart neckline, off-shoulder bell sleeves, a heavily beaded bust, and gold details. Moreover, our princess also loved the idea of a grand detachable skirt with richly decorated lace, that would peekaboo under high-end white satin.
The Design Process
We started by putting together all the pieces JoSaBi Genae liked and created a solid brief. Our work was cut out for us: a beautiful golden wedding dress, comprised of a mermaid wedding dress, with a detachable skirt, a sweetheart neckline, beaded gold lace and floor-length bell sleeves was the base.
Then, we started having fun.
We sourced laces from around the world and sent her patterns to choose from. She picked one, and we got to work.
First, our team placed the lace on the bust and made it pop even more by richly beading it in gold as well. Then, we designed the sleeves around the shape our bride loved and added intricate gold trimmings to them as well. The back of the dress was also adorned with gold details.
Finally- the detachable skirt was a showstopper. Not only was the shape of it super grand, but we adorned the inside of the dress all in gold for a rich lining effect, almost looking like a damask from afar. It was the perfect highlight and made her gown glimmer with every step she took.
Fun fact: Genae barely checked on the dress during her process, and just trusted our team. In the end, she was blown away, and told us that the actual dress was even better than her vision! She was sweet, encouraging, and all-around awesome.

Genae: A golden princess!
Genae got married in Benicia at the Jefferson Street Mansion- a venue close to our hearts! (Our founder Dafra got married there 7 years ago in the dress that eventually led to the creation of JoSaBi Mariées).
Our bride took full advantage of the period charm that the place exudes, and looked right at home while getting ready in between the rich draperies of the bridal room. The golden sculptures and details of the place perfectly complemented her golden wedding gown. She was a vision!
Congratulations, JoSaBi Genae! Thanks for the complete trust that you had in the team and for allowing us to do our best work. You inspired us so much!
So, do you like wedding gowns with some unique touches? Here at JoSaBi Mariées, we will fully customize each and every dress. All we need is for the bride to allow us to be led by her. Our brides inspired to create classic or completely avant garde designs, and we have been loving every step of the process.
Thanks for hanging out with us today! We have more dresses coming up, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, we wish you well.
